Karthi Gnanasegaram

Karthi is an experienced and versatile presenter and reporter well known to UK and global audiences for her work in sport over the last ten years. She hosts and reports live on location for Amazon Prime Video’s tennis and Premier League coverage, IMG’s Premier League Channel and presents for Classic FM while also hosting live performances for the Royal Opera House.

As a presenter for BBC One’s Ten o’clock News, BBC Radio2’s Breakfast Show, BBC Radio4’s Today programme and as a reporter for BBC Sport, Wimbledon, Match of the Day and Football Focus, Karthi has covered some of the biggest sports events including the Olympics, World Cups, Champions League, Wimbledon, US Open, ATP World Tour Finals, the Ryder Cup and the Ashes.

As a regular host of conferences and live events, Karthi is a warm, friendly, professional presence and an excellent interviewer. Karthi read Classics at Cambridge University but her passion for sports journalism had taken hold while she was still at school, setting up the King Edward’s school newspaper while also working for local radio stations and newspapers.
She represented Cambridge University at tennis and badminton and is now obsessed with lowering her golf handicap.

Karthi conducts the on court interviews with players straight after their matches at various tennis tournaments including Wimbledon, Queen’s Club, ATP World Tour Finals and the Dubai Tennis Championships.

She has been a reporter at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships for BBCRadio5Live and presents shows from Wimbledon on 5LiveSportsExtra. She also hosted 6-Love-6 with John McEnroe, Tim Henman and Mary Pierce on BBCRadio5Live and The Wimbledon Channel for the AELTC.
Karthi has presented, reported and been a commentator on a variety of sports including tennis, badminton, taekwondo and judo at the London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics and she has been the world feed commentator on the Opening and Closing ceremonies at Olympics and Commonwealth Games.

In 2014 Karthi started presenting shows for the Premier League’s global channel including Premier League News, Premier League Today and Fanzone.
Her Perfect Pitch series on Classic FM explores the links between sport and classical music. She has featured guests including Sir Andy Murray, the late Shane Warne and Ian Wright.
