Marion won the 2013 Wimbledon Championships singles title after previously being runner-up in 2007, and was also a semifinalist at the 2011 French Open.

During her Tennis career, Marion won seven Women’s Association singles titles and three doubles titles.

Marion defeated three reigning world no. 1 players in her career: Justine Henin in the semifinal of the 2007 Wimbledon Championships, Jelena Janković in the fourth round of the 2009 Australian Open, and Victoria Azarenka in the quarter finals of the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open. She also recorded wins over other top players such as Venus and Serena Williams, Ana Ivanovic, Lindsay Davenport, Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, Dinara Safina, Caroline Wozniacki, Petra Kvitová, Samantha Stosur, and Kim Clijsters.

On 30 January 2012 she reached a career high ranking of no. 7 in the world and returned to this ranking on 8 July 2013 after triumphing at Wimbledon. Marion reached at least the quarter-final stage at each of the four Grand Slams.

Marion’s win at Wimbledon made her only the sixth player in the open era to win the Championships without dropping a single set.

Marion is the only player ever to have played at both the WTA Tour Championships and the WTA Tournament of Champions in the same year, in 2011.

On the 14th of August 2013 Marion announced her retirement from Tennis.

Since then, Marion has presented and commentated each year at the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open for EuroSport UK, EuroSport France, ITV, Fox Asia, BBC TV and Radio.

Marion is an exceptionally talented business woman and is destined to become a big a name in business as her career in tennis.

Marion has designed her own training shoe and dress range. For her 1st season designing for FILA, the LOVE BY MARION BARTOLI COLLECTION has been retailed in Harrods, Selfridges, Neiman Marcus, Galeries Lafayette and Net á Porter. It is now Marion’s second season as the main designer for FILA for their women’s tennis clothing line as well as training and lifestyle shoes.

In December 2017, Marion announced her return to professional tennis. Her first major tournament was at Tie Break Tens at Madison Square Garden in New York on March 5th 2018.
